A New Member Of Our Senior Team – Margaret Hopkins
Progress are thrilled to welcome our outstanding home manager Margaret Hopkins into the senior management team
Before joining Progress as a support worker, Margaret was a foster carer for 22 years. Her magic was quickly recognised here and she progressed to senior, deputy and then registered manager. Over her 16 years with Progress, she has supported staff to care for young people with Autism and behaviours that challenge, through to children with profound disabilities and complex health care needs. Not only did she achieve ‘outstanding’ in both of the services she has managed, but Margaret has achieved this accolade for the past three consecutive years.
Margaret has a direct and uncompromising approach to providing the highest quality of care to young people. She ensures that those without a voice, are heard and understood. Particularly, that we take the time to listen to what children are telling us when they communicate through difficult behaviours. Margaret engenders a sense of community within her service, with staff and young people working collaboratively together to make it the best it can be, giving each individual, the chance to shine.
With high attention to detail, she is effective and efficient in the day-to-day running of her home, rising to the current challenging commercial environment, while maintaining our ‘no compromise’ approach to the care of young people. Margaret has developed her workforce, with staff developing and progressing through her coaching and mentoring. Staff say she will always stop what she is doing to listen to them.
Margaret has just taken up a new challenge with Progress, as operations manager for our residential services. In this, she will be able to share her magic with all our residential managers and support them in aiming higher for all our young people. “We couldn’t be prouder!” (Claire Rogers Progress, Managing Director)
Margaret said “I have been on an incredible journey with Progress. With support from the senior management team, I have been able to make a difference to so many children’s lives, which has been most rewarding. I am thrilled to now have the opportunity to join the senior team and share my knowledge, skills, passion and dedication with others, which is going to be an amazing experience.”
