Statement of purpose

Henley Cottage is an established service, providing a specialist residential service for young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities, with the option to transition into foster care, independent living or return home with support. The home is part of a growing range of flexible services provided by Progress Care Solutions aimed at young people with varying degrees of disability.

Henley Cottage has been carefully adapted to provide specialist accommodation for young people with moderate to severe learning difficulties, Autism, ADHD and associated behavioural challenges, young people accommodated at the home may also present with sensory impairment, physical disabilities and sexualised behaviours.

  • Focus on independence, education and meeting future needs
  • 3 Single en-suite bedrooms (including 1 short breaks bed)
  • Bedrooms are based on the first floor
  • Set in a lovely residential area near Henley College and University Hospital

Registered Manager Paul Gouldingay has worked in the care industry for 10 years with young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties for 8 of these. As part of his work he has been part of setting up a multi-agency group to deal with young people that are at risk of CSE and that continually go missing from care that were deemed high risk. Paul has a Level 5 NVQ in health and social care in Management, a diploma in autism awareness and a Level 4 child psychology diploma.
