The amount you receive for fostering a child varies depending on their age, needs, the type of foster arrangement and where you live. Standard fostering arrangements for children aged 0–2 years start from £295 per week, while allowances for older children or more complex needs can go up to £580 per week. Specialist arrangements, such as those for children with disabilities or parent-and-child arrangements, can be paid up to £680 per week. In addition, carers are placed on a banding system, with extra payments of £25 per child per week depending on their skills, contributions and the complexity of care.
