Progress is a small, family-owned agency that believes that every child deserves the opportunity to experience a loving home. Our main objective is to enable positive change for vulnerable children and young people. Those coming into our care have experienced adversity, and may also have a disability or additional needs.
Our team is dedicated to making sure that help isn’t just a dream, but a reality, for as many children in the Midlands area as possible. Even if they can’t be with their biological parents or families right now, we know that there are many carers out there that have more than enough love and support to share, and we are constantly on the look out for new prospective Foster Carers. Our goal is to match the children under our care with one of our generous, hard-working, truly incredible Foster Carers, and get them access to an alternative home where they can feel valued, respected and cared for when things get tough. By doing this we help young people become more resilient and independent as they get closer to adulthood; in the hope that, when they do move beyond us, they no longer need our support in order to live full, happy lives at the peak of their potential.
Fostering is generally for a limited period – whether it be for a week, a month, a year or maybe a bit more. In most cases, legally, the responsibility for the child or young person is shared between the birth parents and the social services involved- but the day-to-day guidance, love and support comes from the Foster Carers. With any luck, it is only a temporary measure, and the child will be able to return home at some point in the future.
