Qualifications

You must hold a recognised relevant therapy qualification or certificate in relevant therapeutic training.

Experience

You must have experience in the following areas:

• Experience of working with vulnerable children and families
• A broad knowledge of the presentations, effects and interventions of developmental Trauma, Attachment and related mental health concerns commonly perceived to be experienced by Looked After Children.
• To have carried out professional assessments and articulated knowledge of how to analyse and communicate complex psychological concerns
- A preliminary knowledge of child protection procedures
- Effective collaboration with professionals in Health, Education and Social Services

Skills/Abilities

• To understand a child's presentation is a direct response to their trauma.
• Be able to apply theory to practice and evidence this within reports.
• Be creative and innovative.
• Have experience with children who have a range of disabilities.
• To understand and create risk assessments for children.
• Identify children’s risks and share strategies and the reasons for these to ensure the team respond to the child in a therapeutic way.
